For senior Lea Friedl, this was the way she wanted to go out in her last run at a Dick Bell Invitational. While she can now enjoy that feeling for a moment, she has other goals ahead of her and is lucky to be able to run after those on the same course.
After posting a 22:13.84 a year ago on this course, she finished in 22:29.12 in the class B race which was still more than enough (by 27 seconds) to win. Teammates Alejandra Lopez and Madi Axtell stayed together to finish 12th and 13th, respectively. Lopez came home in 25:18.06, while Axtell had a 25:18.57 clocking at the finish.
