Jackie LeRoy Green

Jackie LeRoy Green, formerly of Eagle Grove and Humboldt passed away on October 30, 2024, at La Porte City Specialty Care, La Porte City, Iowa. Jack was born to Harold Everett and Evelyn Fern (Lonning) Green on July 23, 1937, in Britt, Iowa.

Jack and Ruth owned Jack’s TV and Appliance in Eagle Grove and Humboldt. Jack belonged to the Eagle Grove Jaycees, Lion’s Club, and Country Club, and Chamber of Commerce in Eagle Grove and Humboldt. Jack was a Mason with Viona Lodge #538 in Renwick and belonged to the United Methodist Church.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and “Fern” Green, his wife, Ruth, two children, Brett Edward and Elaine Fern (in infancy); brothers, Charles “Sam” and Jerry; Sam’s wife, Beverly; and sister- and brother-in-law, Delores Ione (Orr) and Glenn Caquelin.

Jack is survived by children Bart (Kathy Patterson-Turner) of Woolstock and Pam (Curt) Tallman of Waterloo; five granddaughters Carrie (Josh) Ball; Beth Warnke (Mike Jensen); Heather (Jake) Hines, and Abbie & Katie Tallman; and eleven great-grandchildren: Evan (Kimee) Ball, Aiden & Julia Ball; Mikayla Jensen (Levi), Ashlyn & Ryleigh Geimer, and Olivia & Jack Warnke; Ivy, Zachary, & Christopher Hines; sister, Patricia Coron (Tom) of Virginia; brother, Dennis (JoAnn) of Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Louise Green of Cedar Rapids along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 9, at 1 p.m. at Waterloo First United Methodist Church. A visitation was held at the church for one hour before the service with a Celebration of Life that followed. Memorials may be directed to the family and they respectfully request no flowers or plants.

A graveside service in Eagle Grove, Iowa, with military and Masonic honors will take place at a later date.
