Charles “Chuck” Elberg

Charles “Chuck” Herman Elberg, Jr., the son of Charles H. and Norene “Mike” (Graves) Elberg, was born on July 14, 1954, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School – “Class of 1972”.

On September 4, 1983, Chuck was united in marriage with Maria Bizzaro in Boise, Idaho. The couple and their daughter, Kristyn, moved to Eagle Grove in April of 1992 (supposedly for just a few years!).

Chuck worked for Miller Grain Systems and Sadler Construction before starting his own electrician business in 2001 and retiring – due to his health in 2015. He was looking forward to going back to work after his double lung transplant in May of 2024.

Chuck loved every minute of time spent with his grandsons and also teaching them how to fish. He also enjoyed woodworking, going for rides, especially with the “grand dog”, sweets – preferably Maria’s baked goods, fun times with friends at the Smoke Shop and golfing –maybe not so much the golf (he was known to throw a club or two) but time spent with great friends.

Chuck died on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the age of 70 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Maria; daughter, Kristyn Klemp (Zach); grandsons, Joshua and Mason Klemp; sister, Frannie Hansen (Randy); sister-in-law, Toni Chapman (Edward A.); nephews, Nate Hansen (Melia), Jordan Hansen and John Chapman (Jennifer); great nephews, Logan and Tyler Hansen and other family and friends.

Visitation was Friday, Sept. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home with a Celebration that followed at the Smoke Shop.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
