Ellen Krause

Eagle Grove – Ellen Roseann Krause was born on May 3, 1949, near Burt, Iowa, the daughter of Delton Krause (previously deceased) and Lorraine (Heiderscheidt) Krause. She attended special education classes through the 8th grade and lived at home with her family in Eagle Grove. In her early 30’s, Ellen was able to move into a house centrally located to easily access all she needed to live as independently as possible with weekly in-home assistance.

Ellen worked various jobs – restaurant food prep, cleaning offices and babysitting. She loved country music and enjoyed attending concerts at local and regional fairs (having collected many signed photographs throughout the years). Ellen was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church.

When Ellen could no longer live alone, she moved to Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City.

Ellen passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Southfield Wellness Community, at the age of 75 years. She was preceded in death by parents, Delton and Lorraine and infant brother, David.

Ellen is survived by her siblings: Lynn (Ramona) Krause of Waterloo, Kent (Laura) Eimers of Spring Branch, Texas, Lewis J. (Michelle) Pergande, Jr. of Jewell, Iowa, Linda (Dan) Hawkins of Dallas Center, Iowa, Carol (Joe) Hill of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Carl (Vonda) Pergande of Spring Branch, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Ellen made many friends throughout her life and will be missed by family, friends and caretakers.

A graveside service for the family will be held on June 20, 2024, at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lott’s Creek, Township, Kossuth, County, Iowa, where she will be laid to rest near her parents.
