Ruth Ellen (Kalkwarf) Linn

 Ruth Ellen (Kalkwarf) Linn, the daughter of Peter and Bertha (Gealow) Kalkwarf, was born on August 20, 1934, in Belmond, Iowa.   

On June 17, 1951, Ruth was united in marriage with Robert Linn at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Belmond.  The couple made their home in Eagle Grove.  She was a lab tech at Iowa Testing Labs for 35 years.

Ruth was an active member of the Samuel Lutheran Church.

Ruth enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, watching Jeopardy, knitting and crocheting.

Ruth passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt, at the age of 86 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob in 2007; infant daughter; brother, Robert Kalkwarf (Eileen) and sister, Dorothy Schmidt (Robert).

 Survivors include her children: Alan Linn and wife Connie of Eagle Grove, Jeff Linn of Eagle Grove, Gail Christensen and husband Larry of Humboldt and Beth Linn of Eagle Grove; 7 grandchildren: Erica Thorson and husband Tim of Huxley, Anita Hadley and husband John of Johnston, Matthew Linn of Eagle Grove, Jon Sampson (Courtney) of Bode, Joel Sampson (Jodi Stevenson) of Goldfield, Derrick Linn (Mindi Soper) of Goldfield and Blair Herrmann (Kristin Bojack) of Dows; 12 great-grandchild, Raven Welsh-Herrmann, Lane and Kaia Thorson, Tom, Noah, Bella, Isaiah Hadley, Jayden Kutschara, Kendyll and Keeton Sampson and Mason and Jordyn Linn

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Pastor Russ Weller officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
