Veloise Voigt
Veloise “Dottie” Nolte Voigt, 98, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away November 3, 2024.
Dottie was born on April 17, 1926, in Popejoy, Iowa to Ed and Daisy (Grupe) Nolte. She married Keith Voigt in 1944 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Iowa their entire married life. Several years after Keith passed away, Dottie moved to Amarillo. Dottie was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children: Claudia (Paul) Olson of Winterset, Iowa, Vicky (Ken) Gilmore of Rogers, Arkansas, Merle (Valinda) Voigt of Amarillo, Texas.
Also surviving her are seven grandchildren: Chris Olson, Chad Olson, Dirk Bisbee, Brooke Bisbee, Heather Root, Mitch Voigt, and Josh Voigt. Fourteen great grandchildren also survive her: Anna, Hunter, Maddie, Zane, Emi, Anna, Aimee, Allyson, Jon, Jackson, Sam, Eli, Luke and Mali.
Dottie also is survived by one great great grandchild, Jack.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Daisy, her husband Keith, sister Opal Draper, brothers Keith and Kenny Nolte and her son, John Voigt and daughter-in-law Dorreen Voigt.
A graveside service will be held in Eagle Grove in the spring.
