Thomas Hiltabidle
Thomas Dwight Hiltabidle, the son of Richard and Wanema (Mace) Hiltabidle was born on November 6, 1957, in Webster City, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove. Tom served in the U.S. Army – stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Tom was united in marriage with Mary Ropte on August 12, 1978, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.
Tom was a huge fan of Old School Country Music and Rock ‘n Roll – The Who, Social Distortion, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Tom Petty were four of his favorites. He also enjoyed War history, going for walks, reading Steven King books, watching westerns and the Simpsons and cheering on the Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs.
Tom passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, at the age of 66 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kila Kae and brothers, Stephen and Richard Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hiltabidle; sons, Matthew T. and Aaron M. Hiltabidle; daughter, Melinda S. Hiltabidle; “granddogger”, Princess and sister-in-law, Donna Hiltabidle.
