November 28th. Just four days after Thanksgiving, and three after the hectic rush of Black Friday shopping, with less than a month to go until Christmas, and just over a month until New Years. It's a hectic time and that means a stressful time for many. Which makes it the perfect time to make services available to those who might need them, in a fun way.

That's exactly what the organizers of the first annual Slam The Stigma have planned to provide during the boys and girls Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball games between the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys & Cowgirls, and the Eagle Grove Eagles. Hosted by Becky and Jean Zigrang, the event was "created to provide awareness, understanding, and resources to help 'Slam the Stigma' of mental health challenges," read a promotional post on Facebook.

The event will be supported by the "Slam Squad", with local organizations present to share information about mental health resources available in our local communities. Visit the booths and you can earn a prize!

Commemorative shirts have been made up and printed, and are available through J&J Sports in Eagle Grove, and will be for sale at the games. Mental Health Awareness bracelets and pins will also be available while supplies last.

There will also be a pulled pork meal served, along with available school concessions.

Games start at 4:00 pm. The final game begins at 7:45 pm.
