Paul Campbell
Paul Campbell, 75, of Eagle Grove, Iowa passed away July 19, 2024, at Rotary Senior Living.
Paul Gene Campbell was born June 7, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Gaius Asa and Verla Marie (Doolittle) Campbell. The youngest of nine children, he grew up on the family farm raising livestock and learning to fabricate almost anything. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1967. In 1969, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served for two years.
On February 12, 1972, he was united in marriage to Jacklin Back. They moved to an acreage near Eagle Grove where they raised two children, Justin and Jennifer.
For 33 years, Paul ran his own business, Campbell Auto Body in Eagle Grove. His love of all things mechanical began at an early age with the 2-cylinder tractors he used on the farm and the various cars and motorcycles he worked on with his brothers and friends.
Everyone who knew Paul knew how much he loved to build things. From simple barn repairs, to constructing buildings, to adding his own custom touches to cars, trucks, and motorcycles he took a great deal of pride in creating.
Paul also loved animals and nature, he found joy in simple pleasures like mowing hay, fishing with his family, riding horses, and playing with the family dogs and barn cats.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings (and spouses), Morris & Joan Campbell, Don & Ethel Campbell, Charles Campbell, Dean Rasmussen, Lyle Christensen, and Billy Campbell (in infancy).
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Campbell; his children and their spouses, Justin & Brandy Campbell, and Jennifer Campbell & Wyatt Haas; his grandson, Asa Campbell; his siblings and their spouses Marie Christensen, Yvonne Rasmussen, Gilbert & Helen Campbell, Sandra Napier, Robert & Sandra Campbell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorials will be left to the discretion of the family.
