Patricia Faye (Siddens) Moser

Patricia Faye (Siddens) Moser, the daughter of Charles and Grace (Saunders) Siddens, was born on December 28, 1926, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth until her family moved to Eagle Grove, where she graduated from Eagle Grove High School “Class of 1944”.

On December 28, 1944, Pat was united in marriage with Dean Weir Moser at the Congregational Church in Eagle Grove. The couple made their home on the family farm, where they farmed and raised their 5 boys until 1965 when they moved to town.  During their farming years they received the honor of GI Farm Family of the year and host to the Soviet agriculture delegation in 1955. Dean preceded her in death on November 5, 1988.  Pat’s strong and independent spirit allowed her to carry on for 33 years after Dean’s passing and to remain in her home.

Pat was the last of the “Boovers”, a beloved group of friends that first started their weekly Friday night meetings in junior high and through adulthood.  The meetings have long since ceased, the eight women remained lifelong friends.

Pat was an active member of the United Methodist Church, U.M.W. and P.E.O.  She served as both a local and state officer in both organizations for many years and devoted much of her time and energy decorating the church for every special occasion. She was also secretary for the Eagle Grove Area Chamber of Commerce.

Pat was wonderful, gracious hostess who always enjoyed decorating her home and planning parties where she could entertain her family and friends.  She especially loved to decorate for Christmas.

Pat and Dean loved traveling to Iowa and Iowa State football games.  In 1975, when Jack Trice Stadium was built in Ames, they purchased season tickets which they used together until Dean’s passing in 1988.  Pat continued to attend games and tailgate with her daughter-in-law, Gail for many years, particularly enjoying when her grandchildren joined them.

Patricia Faye passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, at the age of 94 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jack Siddens in W.W.II, Charles Siddens and Robert Siddens.

Survivors include her sons: Michael Moser (Suzanne) of Oklahoma City, OK, Douglas Moser (Mona) of Rockford, Richard Moser of Dallas, TX, Thomas Moser of Riverside, CA and Carl Timothy Moser (Marilyn) of Hampton; 12 grandchildren: Mackenzie, Troy, Tricia, Lora, Ryan, Jan, Shawn, Jarod, Matt, Scott, Steve, and Sara; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Charlene “Sharkie” Strain of Mason City and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.
