Marion Baughman

Marion Eugene Baughman, the son of Eugene and Berniece (Brown) Baughman, was born on November 13, 1941, in Steamboat Rock, Iowa. The family moved to Gilmore City where he was raised and educated, graduating from Gilmore City Bradgate High School “Class of 1959”. 

In 1959, Marion married Alice Hayes in Otho, Iowa. The couple divorced in 1989.

Marion had a passion for horses, which included several years of Parades, Rodeo, Horse Sales, Horse Shows, Trail Rides and even Fort Museum Reenactments.

Marion was an over the road truck driver for many years, working for various companies which included Decker’s, Brazos’s, Mid Continent, Keim and Cross Cartage. He retired in 2009.

Marion passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Rotary Senior Living, at the age of 80 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph and Georgie Baughman and sister, Luetta Gregory (Eddie). 

He is survived by his son, Rick Baughman (Brittaney) of Fort Dodge; daughter, Cheryl Tilley (Rod) of Eagle Grove; six grandchildren: Cody, Mindy, Amber, Laurel, Isabel and Tony; eight great-grandchildren: Noah, R.J., Taitym, Haidyn, Payton, Paxton, Aiyle and Braila; sister-in-law, Barb Baughman of Cedar Rapids and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Marion was held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 111 NW 8th Street, Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
