Marian M. Borchardt

Marian M. Borchardt, 92, of Concordia, MO, died Monday, August 9, 2021, at the Lutheran Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia, MO. 

 

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Pastor Michael Pottschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to Saint Paul Lutheran High School, The Lutheran Hour Ministries or Good Shepherd Care Community in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Born May 21, 1929, near Germantown, IA, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Mueller and Emilie Richter Mueller. She was a graduate of Paullina High School in Paullina, IA and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. On June 6, 1953, she married Armond A. Borchardt who preceded her in death on July 29, 2006. She lived in Concordia since 2008, moving from Joplin, MO, and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and its 1912 Ladies Aid She enjoyed knitting, baking, sewing, playing cards and puzzles. 

 

Survivors include four children, Alan Borchardt (June) of Phoenix, AZ, Mark Borchardt (Cheri) of Lorena, TX, Scott Borchardt of Concordia and Anne Boron (Edward) of Willowbrook IL; five grandchildren, Greg, Jeff (Kayleigh) and Alicia Borchardt, Scott and Katie Boron; two great-granddaughters, Avery and Ainsley Borchardt; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Marian was preceded in death by five siblings, Evelyn Luttman, Everett Mueller, Hillard Mueller, Leroy Mueller and Fern Schmith.
