Lora Gangestad

Lora Ilene Gangestad, the daughter of Richard and Mary (Hazelwood) Gangestad, was born on June 29, 1959 in Steamboat Rock, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating with the “Class of 1977” She attended Iowa Central and DMACC after graduation.

Lora was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church, where she was confirmed. She made her home in Goldfield. She worked for many years in Clarion at Meridith – E.D.S. until she retired.

Lora enjoyed participating in bowling and dart leagues in her younger years, and recently enjoyed online games and shopping. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and celebrating the holidays, especially with family.

Lora passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the age of 65 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; niece, Makayla, and great-nephew Ronnie.

Survivors include her siblings: Wayne (Erlene) Gangestad, Karol (Jim) Moore, Lois (Jim) Sankey, Jeanine Gangestad, and Mike Gangestad SR; 12 nieces and nephews and multiple great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 2 - 4 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with a funeral service that followed at 4 p.m. A Private Family burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, at a later date.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
