Justin Olson

Justin D. Olson, 33, formerly of Hardy, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at his home in Sioux City.

He was born Oct. 30, 1989, in Clarion, the son of Mark J. and Carolyn A. (Larson) Olson. He grew up on the family farm near Hardy and attended the Humboldt Schools. Justin worked for a time on the family farm and then enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in a tank division in Korea. Following his discharge, he moved to Des Moines and worked for Firestone before becoming a driver for Pepsi and later Martin Brothers. He recently moved to Sioux City. He enjoyed fishing and kayaking, was a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and stand-up comedy and loved his dog, Havoc.

Justin is survived by his parents Mark and Carolyn Olson of Hardy, his brothers Joshua Olson of Sioux City and Jeremiah (Madeline) Olson of Humboldt, his sister Becky Olson of Fort Dodge, his grandmother Barbara Larson of Eagle Grove and his nephews Grayson and Raylon. He was preceded in death by his brother Brycen, his grandparents Jay and Charlotte Olson and his grandfather Duane Larson.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Oak Hill Church in Humboldt. Visitation was from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1st at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service, Humboldt. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Hardy.
