Gary Dene Morgan

Gary Dene Morgan, 90, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on April 12, 2024.

Gary was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a devout Christian with a deep faith in the Lord.

Gary was born in Benton County, Lincoln, Missouri on May 1, 1933. His family moved to Iowa when he was still a baby, eventually settling in Eagle Grove. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School and served in the Army after graduation, stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. After the service, Gary continued his education at Eagle Grove Junior College. Gary loved Colorado and eventually made his home in Denver where he was a realtor (Morgan Realty) for over 50 years. He met the love of his life, Rebecca (Becky) King, when he listed her house and eight months later they were married.

Gary worshiped at the First Baptist Church of Englewood and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved going to church, reading his Bible and taking long walks in the neighborhood. He had a love for reading and collecting books, especially about US and Colorado history. He always had a positive, cheerful outlook and his sense of humor and his camera were a mainstay at every family gathering.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Becky Morgan, children Kent, Holly (Patrick), Harlan (Lana), six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, brother Roger (Norma) and sisters Maribeth Martin and Shari Albright as well as many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Floral, brothers Arlen and Bill, sister-in-law Helen Morgan, and brother-in-laws Robert Martin and Keith Albright.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Praise Community Church in Eads, Colorado, at 2:00 pm, with lunch at noon. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday, April 18, 2024, between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Contributions can be made to the Denver Rescue Mission in Gary’s memory.
