Donna Jean White

Hardy – Donna Jean White, 89, of Humboldt, formerly of Hardy, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023 in the Long Term Care Unit of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.

Donna was born Oct. 14, 1933 on the family farm in rural Hardy. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Renwick in 1952. She was united in marriage to James S. White on July 27, 1952 in Louisiana. James was serving in the United States Air Force at the time and the couple made their home in Louisiana and later Florida before returning to the Hardy area following his discharge. The couple farmed near Hardy and raised their family. Donna was a member of the Hardy Trinity Lutheran Church, later Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, the T4U Club and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed shopping and word search books.

She is survived by her children Cathy Schipull of Humboldt and Scott White of Jesup, Georgia, her granddaughters Lindsay Charon and Christen (Nick) Sewell, great-grandchildren Braxton, Hunter, Paisley and Hannah and her brother Marvin Wergeland of Algona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, infant son Jeffry, sister Evon Baessler, son-in-law Doug Schipull and her sister-in-law Dolores Wergeland.

Funeral Services were held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1st and visitation from 10 a.m. until service time both at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with the Reverend Katherine Russell, officiating.
