Deborah Burres

Eagle Grove – Deborah Ann (Seidel) Burres was born on Oct. 21, 1952, in Beloit, Kansas, the daughter of Eugene and Doris (Larsen) Seidel. She moved to Eagle Grove with her family, where she received her education from 7th grade on, graduating from Eagle Grove High School, “Class of 1970”. Deb then attended Iowa Central Community College, Eagle Grove Campus.

On July 15, 1971, Deb was united in marriage with Mark Burres at Evangelical Lutheran Church, to this union four children were born.

Deb was a devoted farm wife, mother and homemaker. She also enjoyed working over the years at Dodger Manufacturing in Eagle Grove and at the Fort Dodge Labs where she made many lifelong friendships.

Deb was an active member of Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years in her church circle, church choir and served as Sunday School teacher to many age groups. She lived her faith in everything she did.

Deb will be remembered for the love she had for helping and caring for others and how she taught and showed her family about love being unconditional.

Deb was many things - crafty, encouraging and creative are just a few. She loved teaching her children to read, enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and shopping!

Deb passed away, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at the age of 69 years. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Burres of Eagle Grove; children: Amy (Burres) Drew of Vinton, Chad Burres of Eagle Grove, Brian Burres of Eagle Grove and Rachel (Burres) Elias (Tom) of Sioux Falls, SD; granddaughter, Allison Drew; great-granddaughter, Rylie Drew; twin great-grandsons, Justin and Colton Gaunt; sister, Karen Seidel of Lyons, KS; brother, Edwin Seidel (Micki) of Beatrice, NE and may other family and friends.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Jason Cooper officiating. Visitation was Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
