Bill Quintus

William Edward Quintus, the son of Floyd and Mildred (Scott) Quintus was born Nov. 2, 1929 in Garner, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, Iowa, where he made his home.

He was united in marriage to Dot Anders on Aug. 4, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Clarion, Iowa. They celebrated 72 years of marriage. Together they had five children, Jackie, Bill, Jan, Kris and Diane.

Bill worked for Al Jacobson Construction and Boone Valley Coop until starting to farm full time in 1964. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove and was proud of the years he volunteered for the Eagle Grove Fire Department. He was also a board member for the Farmers Coop in Eagle Grove.

The family had many great memories camping in the summer. Bill and Dot loved attending and supporting all the kids and grandkids sporting events and activities they were involved in. Their cheers and his whistle could be heard at many events. Bill enjoyed woodworking and never found a bad auction, which helped his antiquing hobby.

For the last 35 years Bill and Dot spent the winter months in Arizona enjoying the warm weather, desert golf, cards, and many friendships.
