EAGLE GROVE — Beverly Jean McVicker, the daughter of Wylie and Grace (Schaeffer) McVicker, was born on June 1, 1926, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School with the “Class of 1944”.

After graduation, Bev worked at Schaeffer’s Grocery with her parents and uncle. In 1960, Bev started her 28-year career with the City of Eagle Grove as city clerk and water clerk secretary. She truly enjoyed her position and met many new friends.

Beverly was a member of the United Methodist Church for over 68 years. She also served as a member of the Memorial Hall Board, helped many neighbors and friends and loved all animals.

Beverly passed away on unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the age of 95 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; sister, Dorothy Snell and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Beverly is survived by a niece, Kathryn Jones (Steve); nephew, Donald Snell (Ann) and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 24, 3:30 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be left the Wright County Humane Society.
