Betty Koob

Betty Jane Koob, the daughter of Otto and Lizzie (Boeherson) Wolff, was born on July 4, 1924, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove.

Betty married Robert Koob November 10, 1943 in Fort Dodge Iowa. Together they had 8 Children.

After high school, she worked at the local hemp plant, making rope for wartime efforts. She later joined the Army and served during World War Two. She later worked at Rotary Ann as a nurse for many years. Betty and her husband owned and operated the Pester Derby for several years in Eagle Grove and later spent time raising her family as a homemaker.

Betty was an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, the V.F.W and Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed time with the sewing ladies and quilting. She also enjoyed calling Bingo, traveling, and spending time with her kids, especially picnics.
Betty passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove, at the age of 100 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Koob; sons, Michael Koob and Brian Koob, and daughters: Pamela Koob and Debra Ruhnke.

Survivors include her children: Linda Brooks (Kent), Mark Koob, Penny Eittreim and Terry Koob, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, September 16, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with visitation on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home. Burial was on Monday, September 16, at Rose Hill Cemetery, following the funeral service.
