At Monday evening’s City Council meeting, the discussion centered around the ordinance governing water discharge into sewers, as well as the resolutions setting the inspection rates that will be charged to residents when the work begins. Formerly known as the Eagle Grove Chamber of Commerce Banquet, this evening of gathering is held annually at the end of October. The night is meant to celebrate the successes of the past year, the community members and business people who help make our town what it is, and look forward to what lies ahead in the year to come.

Staff Reporter 09.OCT.08 Last year, the Eagle Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and the Eagle Grove Memorial Library decided to try something new. Instead of holding their annual Halloween Walk on a Saturday morning, they held it in conjunction with Begger’s Night. Trick-or-Treaters were encouraged to start their candy collection one hour early by making cookies at the library and then visiting participating retailers for a few extra yummies. [more]
