Getting a “Head Start” in life

Some people know it as the old Children’s Cup building.  Others know it as a former doctor’s office or perhaps the old Chamber of Commerce building, but as of this fall, the location of 121 N. Iowa Ave in Eagle Grove has now become Your Own United Resources’ new Head Start facility.  They were excited to show off all the remodeling efforts to turn this into the perfect education location that gives kids a head start in life during a recent Open House event.

Eagle Grove School District Superintendent Jess Toliver, who has also served on the Board of Directors of Head Start for the past three years, was instrumental in bringing this service back to Wright County.  (It hasn’t been available here for a number of years since they left the Eagles Wings Daycare and Preschool facility).

“This will be a great addition to our community,” he said during the Ribbon Cutting ceremony held Friday, Feb. 21, adding that grant money helped them get this project done.
