Wright County earns “Connected” award

As Jared Johnson of Goldfield Access Network stated “It’s possible to survive without Broadband Internet, but not thrive.”

That statement in itself lends way to why the leaders of Wright County felt it was so important to work together to ensure this area is not left behind when it comes to internet access. In fact, you could say they are leading the way for rural Iowa. On Wednesday, Sept. 16, they were presented with the “Connected” certification during ceremonies held at Robert Blue Middle School. According to Governor Terry Branstad, who was in Eagle Grove to personally present the award to the Wright County Supervisors, Wright County is only the 20th connected community (the fifth county) award recipient in the State of Iowa.
