Wright County to become a “Connected Community”

On Wednesday, September 16, Wright County will be honored with the “Connected” certification. This award will be presented by the Governor of Iowa, Terry Branstad, at 1:30 p.m., at the Robert Blue Middle School Auditorium in Eagle Grove. On behalf of Wright County, we would like to cordially invite the public to attend this ceremony. The “Connected” certification recognizes that a community has measurably demonstrated proficiency for effective access, adoption, and use of broadband and broadband supported technologies. This national platform recognizes communities that are excelling in their pursuit of accelerated access, adoption, and use of broadband. As the 20th certification in the State of Iowa, Wright County will be the 5th county recognized by this prestigious award. In order for the county to meet the minimum certification requirements, Wright County needed to generate enough points in the “Connected” assessment framework by scoring at least 32 points in each section (Access, Adoption, and Use) and 100 points out of 120 points overall. Wright County has met and surpassed these requirements.
