Working to make EG a better place

Sarah Jensen, a 1994 graduate of Eagle Grove High School, first got involved with the Eagle Grove Chamber Board in May of 2004, serving as a representative of Wells Fargo Bank. She was originally just finishing someone else’s term, but when that was up, she agreed to stay for another two years...which quickly turned into 13 years. During that time, she also held the office of President, Vice President, and Secretary.

“I love the Chamber and I love Eagle Grove, so I was happy to be on any committee that works to make Eagle Grove a better place,” said Jensen about why she was a part of the board so long.

And make Eagle Grove a better place they have done. Currently, the Chamber serves over 100 members - businesses, organizations, and associate members.

“When you think of Eagle Grove, you don’t see 100 business, but there are a lot out there that are not “downtown” businesses. We need to support them all,” Jensen said of why she was such a dedicated volunteer. She also stated how important the Chamber is to the community as a whole - not just to individual members.

“The Chamber ties all the business and committees (like Our Foundation, CDC, even city council) together. It’s the middle man who can make the wheels turn smoothly, and it’s their job to make us look good,” she said.
