What’s the weather like?

Last week’s weather was anything but pleasant, but the kindergarten students at Eagle Grove Elementary didn’t mind. They stayed nice and warm indoors learning about all the different types of weather that occur in Iowa.

It was obvious there was no need for rain sticks last week, but Ellie Lenning (top right) didn’t mind making one. Before making the rains sticks, the kids learned about accumulation, evaporation, and precipitation. Then, while they made their rain sticks, they enjoyed singing a song about it. The rain sticks even added a little bit of extra rhythm to the song as the turned and colored them in Stacy Osborn’s room.

When students rotated to McKristie Willard’s room (middle right), they got to play in the snow without having to put on their winter coats, boots, and gloves.
