Walter Steven Pfaffenbach

Walter Steven Pfaffenbach graced Nina G. and Walter H. Pfaffenbach with his arrival on March 20th, 1943.

At just age two Walter buried his father who was killed in an act of heroism in World War II.

Later Nina remarried to Lyden Knight; and Paul William Knight was brought into the world only to be taken away again at the young age of 30. He was his brother’s best friend.

Walter married Connie Hanson in July of 1965. Unfortunately, during their 37 year marriage the couple were never blessed with children. Which, sadly, made Walter the last of his bloodline.

Although Walter never became a father he became many things in his life; a son, grandson, stepson, a student, a farmer, a graduate, a police officer, a truck driver, a pilot, and a husband. The most important of all, a friend to so many!

Walter, you will be missed.

Walter’s friends held their final goodbye on May 13 between 2 and 3 p.m. at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove. Walter’s ashes were placed with his wife Connie at Graceland Cemetary on May 19 at 1 p.m.
