Vrba leads Lady Eagles in both scoring, rebounds Friedl joins her as All-Conference-West picks

The final 2018-19 Eagle Grove varsity girls basketball season stats show a 3-19 overall record and a 2-14 Top of Iowa West mark, which was good for a tie for seventh. West Hancock won the division at 16-0, and qualified for state, with Forest City and North Union both following them with identical 12-4 records. Both Natalie Vrba and Lea Friedl were named to the All-Conference-West teams, Vrba as a 2nd Team pick and Friedl an honorable mention.

The ladies scored 844 total points for a 38.4 ppg average. They totaled 309 field goals in 752 attempts for 41.1 percent, 43 out of 156 three-point shots for 27.6 percent and 183 out of 346 free throws for 52.9 percent.

Vrba led the team in scoring, firing in 258 total points on 104 of 202 shots from the field for an average of 11.7 ppg. Friedl scored 158 points on 52 of 107 shots for an average of 7.2 ppg. Ariane Lyman scored 158 points on 56 of 124 shots for an average of 7.2 ppg. Kaitlin Sampson scored 64 points on 21 of 70 shots for an average of 3.0 ppg. Kenzie Crail scored 56 points on 18 of 63 shots for an average of 2.7 ppg.

Jordan Kastler scored 56 points on 23 of 61 shots for an average of 2.5 ppg. Megan Sampson scored 32 points on 11 of 25 shots for an average of 1.8 ppg. Jozey Gump scored 23 points on nine of 34 shots for an average of 1.2 ppg. Hannah Sampson scored 19 points on seven of 28 shots for an average of 1.1 ppg. Brittney Osborn scored 15 points on six of 27 shots for an average of 0.7 ppg. Cali Schultz scored five points on two of eight shots for an average of 0.6 ppg.
