Vrba becomes all-time Eagle basketball scoring leader

She admits that, without a doubt, basketball is her favorite sport. She has been pretty good at it too, so good in fact that after last week’s games, senior Natalie Vrba stands at the top of the career scoring list at the school with 875 points and counting.

“I had no idea I was that close until my dad said something that I realized how close I actually was to reaching it,” said Vrba. “I was obviously really happy, and even more so because my parents were proud of me! I was also so relieved, because the closer I got the more pressure I felt so I was happy to just be done with it.”

She first became interested in the sport in eighth grade.

“Before then, it wasn’t my favorite sport but that year made me realize how much I enjoyed playing,” said Vrba.

She recalls that her class came into high school with really high expectations placed on them.
