Unusual guests at the library

Things got a little wild at the Eagle Grove Memorial Library on Thursday, June 15. That’s because they had some very special visitors make an appearance. They weren’t there to check out library books, but they were there to entertain area children and adults. Those unusual guests were four animals from the Blank Park Zoo. They were even more special because they are four animals you won’t see inside the Des Moines Zoo.

Instead, they are creatures used for educational purposes. For the last several years, an education community program specialist with Blank Park Zoo has been bringing animals such as these to Eagle Grove and other communities, making stops at libraries, retirement homes and more.
