They come from everywhere for the Wright County Fair

I’ve been covering the Wright County Fair for 18 years now and the one thing I’ve noticed is that it’s not just for the people of Wright County. People come from near and far to enjoy our great fair.

A couple of years ago I met two longtime friends who lived in North Carolina. Jane Thul (who had lived in Eagle Grove for 40 years) was planning a trip back to see her daughter, and scheduled her trip during the Wright County Fair because it’s “one of her favorite events.” Her friend, Pat Sars, heard so many good things about it, she came along too.

Coming back to see family in the Wright County area is actually quite common I’ve found, which is why this year I met an adorable little girl by the name of Kamryn Schultes. She came with her parents from Carroll to enjoy the fair with relatives. She is the niece of Reid Huntley. While there were many fun things for this toddler to enjoy - like the Kids’ Zone, Barnyard Adventures, Nick’s kids Show...one of her favorites seemed to be sitting on an old tractor. Be sure to watch for her adorable picture that will appear sometime in the next couple of weeks as we bring you complete fair coverage.

I also met a sweet lady by the name of Diana Stille who lives in Goodell. Her granddaughter, Silvy Stone, was visiting her from Boise, Idaho and they were looking for something fun and different to do, so they came to the Wright County Fair, and Stille said they were sure glad they did.
