SSB honors local veterans

In conjunction with Memorial Day, Security Savings Bank of Eagle Grove hosted a “Salute to our Veterans” to honor area service men and women with a free meal and program on Tuesday, May 29.

The V.F.W. Hall was filled with veterans and their spouses, and people in honor of their loved ones who have served. After a delicious meal, they got to enjoy a few patriotic numbers from the Eagle Grove High School Band.

Diane Friesleben of Security Savings Bank was proud to be the host of the event.

“On Behalf of Security Savings Bank, thank you for your service,” she told the Veterans.

She started off her portion of the program by asking how many Veterans in the room had been able to go on any of the Honor Flights. Four of them raised their hand and had many good things to say about the trip, how they felt when they were there, and what it meant to them to spend the day with other Veterans with the same feelings.
