Special Council meeting held, Boyd’s contract will not change

At a special meeting of the Eagle Grove City Council, held this past Monday night, the Council voted 4-2 to leave City Administrator Mike Boyd’s contract as is. Voting against the motion were Councilpersons Mike Weland and Al Pamperin. The action followed a close session, at which time Boyd’s contract was reviewed, with Boyd also requesting it under a closed session. The half-hour session was held so that the Council could consider any need for amending the contract, which if so needed to be done by June 1. Upon returning into open session, the motion carried to leave things as they are.

Also acted on was a change order #1 for $4,600 to Sadler Construction for work on the Fire Station building. Their plan is to dispose of metal-faced foam panels, clean and seal the exposed concrete block and then finish the interior portion of the wall. The old foam panels were responsible for trapping moisture and causing a mold issue. The Council approved it, with Councilperson Denny Vandewater abstaining due to his employment with the contractor.
