School board adopts budget for FY19-20

At this past Monday’s meeting of the Eagle Grove Board of Education, directors approved a $19.638 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year. It includes over $4.437 million in tax levy money.

There was no one present to speak, for or against the budget, during the public hearing prior to review and approval (look for a separate story detailing the budget in this week’s Eagle).

Also approved, in a separate agenda item, was a budget amendment for the current fiscal year. Just over $2.6 million in additional expense is for land purchase and construction of the elementary addition.

Superintendent Jess Toliver informed the Board that agreements have been reached with both the Eagle Grove Education Association (EGEA which includes teaching staff) and the Eagle Grove Educational Support Association (EGESA which includes custodians and building secretaries.
