Rotary Senior Living crowns Valentine’s Day royalty

The tradition of celebrating those you love on Valentine’s Day dates back to the middle ages, although the actual details of how and why it began differ, according to the history.com website.

No matter when it got its start, Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove celebrated this special holiday with their residents by crowning a 2017 Valentines Day King and Queen in both the north and south homes.

Rotary Senior Living South

The residents at Rotary Senior Living South chose Roger Bauman and Darlene Lauer to be their King and Queen. Although these two did not know each other when they moved in, they quickly got acquainted and became good friends. Darlene moved in to the facility in November of 2014. Roger moved in just a little bit before her.

Darlene said she loves living at Rotary Senior Living. She had especially enjoyed getting to know the people, like her good friend Roger, and having the freedom to do a lot of things throughout the day. She especially enjoys hall walking.
