Rose Marie Draheim paintings on display at Heartland Museum

Rose Marie Draheim said she has always wanted to be an artist, ever since she was a “little kid.”  But when she graduated from high school in Kanawha, she decided to attend Iowa State Teachers College (now University of Norther Iowa) to become an elementary teacher instead.  She said the biggest reason for her decision was because in high school, there were no art classes offered, so she felt like art was really more of “a desire” and felt teaching was a more practical choice.
