Reclassification probable for tri-county drainage district

Branch 195 of the joint Drainage District #49-1-125 has been a sticky spot for the supervisors of Franklin, Hancock, and Wright Counties over the past few weeks. While ready to move ahead with a repair to the open ditch portion of the district main, the three boards didn’t have an agreement on whether to add in repairs to the Branch 195 of Lateral 60 to district assessments.

At a work session with the county boards and their attorneys Monday afternoon, the Franklin County supervisors, who previously wanted to include Branch 195 in the district repairs, agreed that it would be best to look at reclassification before committing to large repair projects in the laterals and branches.
