Proud to be an Eagle - Larry Sadler named 2014 EGHS Homecoming Grand Marshal

Larry Sadler is a 1964 graduate of Eagle Grove High School, and he is as proud today as he was back then, to be an Eagle.

Although Sadler never participated in sports himself while in high school, he and his wife, Marilyn, had three daughters, who among them, participated in a variety of sports and activities while attending Eagle Grove High School. Larry and Marilyn enjoyed being in the stands to cheer them on in volleyball, cross country, and more, but they couldn’t have been prouder to have watched their two oldest daughters, Susie and Karie, be crowned Homecoming Queens. Their youngest daughter, Leah, was one of the “Fab 5” fans who went above and beyond showing their school spirit in 2007.  In fact, the Fab 5 was recognized by ESPN as top fans and won an all-expense paid trip to New York.

Larry and Marilyn are excited that all three of their children have made plans to come back for EGHS Homecoming 2014.  They will be there for coronation on Friday, Sept. 18 when their dad gives his speech as the Homecoming Grand Marshal. Now, Homecoming will truly have special meaning for everyone in the family. Purchase a copy this week’s Eagle Grove Eagle to continue reading this article.
