Prestage plant ordinance hearings—why Eagle Grove?

In response to questions, Wright Economic Development Director Bryce Davis told attendees of the July 18 zoning ordinance hearings why the county had chosen the proposed site—about five miles south of Eagle Grove on Highway 17—for Prestage Foods’ processing plant. Reasons included nearby electricity and natural gas access, existing transportation infrastructure with old 20 nearby, and distance from populated areas.
