Prestage Foods nearing completion

Prestage Foods of Iowa is proud to say that they are building the most state-of-theart food processing plant in the world right here in Eagle Grove.

“We believe we have led the way with this project and that it will become standard in the industry from here on out,” said Prestage Chief Executive Offi cer Jere Null.

Work began on the $300 million project in the spring of 2017. Despite extreme winter cold and snow, and many spring rainy days, the project has stayed very close to on-schedule from their original completion date of November 2018. They are now on course to begin initial operation by mid-December with “production starting in earnest” right after the start of the new year.

“We’re excited about everything...now we’re just finishing up the electrical work,” Null told the Eagle Grove City Council and Wright County Supervisor members during a three-hour tour on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
