Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament to celebrate 20th year

A new case of breast cancer is diagnosed every two minutes. That’s more than 200,000 people who will receive the devastating news in 2016 alone.

The Susan G. Koman Foundation has been raising money for research, education, and support for breast cancer patients for the past 34 years. Eagle Grove has been doing their part to help support the fight against cancer by hosting the annual Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament for the past 20 years.

This year’s event is set for Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Eagle Grove Golf Course. This year’s theme is “Tackle Cancer,” so dig out some football jerseys, put on your son or neighbor’s helmet, or just slap on some black eye cream, but don’t be shy to dress the part and have fun.

This year’s committee members - Betty Jo Willard, WynAnn Allen-Tighe (originator of the EG tournament), Sandy Cherry, Amanda Johnston, and Brooke Terwilliger, are hoping you will come out and support it.
