New Hope Church welcomes new Pastor

Growing up in Duluth, Minn., Pastor Gina Sterk isn’t used to small town life, but as the newly appointed Pastor of New Hope Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, South Ennis Vincent Church, and the Associate Pastor of Trinity Lutheran in Webster City, she’s quickly adjusting and starting to love it.

As a resident of Webster City, Sterk said, “I really enjoy the people (of all the churches and communities). They have been really great. While it’s a new experience to be in a small town, I like how the people are very connected and care for each other... people can really have a big impact here.”

Sterk admits that when she headed off to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Ia., she really didn’t plan on going into the Seminary. She studied psychology. But then she met her college Chaplain who encouraged her to consider becoming a Pastor. She did consider it...and after obtaining her psychology degree, she headed off to the Seminary in Chicago.

When she finished, Sterk was open to serving anywhere. When the call came to serve the above mentioned small area churches, she accepted. Pastor Sterk was ordained in Webster City on March 10, 2019, and has been serving the three churches since.
