New EGHS teacher

Amy Putney has been hired by the Eagle Grove Area School District to teach English I, English III, American Lit. A & B, Creative Writing, and Independent Reading. She will also be coaching the high school Speech team.

Originally from Carroll, Iowa, Putney earned a BA in Public Relations/Communications, a second BA in English Education, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa. Past experience includes teaching English at Dike-New Hartford High School in Dike, Iowa, and at West High School in Waterloo, Iowa. She also coached the Wapsie Valley High School Speech team for two years.

She is excited about her new opportunity at Eagle Grove High School.
