New Eagle football coach pleased with reception he’s gotten

Paul Hansch of Clarion felt that the opportunity was right to get back into being a head coach, and he has been impressed with the reception he’s gotten from this district.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with the reception from both the kids and the community,” said the veteran football coach. “The assistants have been excellent to work with. They care about football in Eagle Grove and want it to be better.”

When Bruce Dahlhauser left the district for another position, Hansch knew it would be tough to find someone else at that particular time of the year. “I’ve always liked coaching football, and they needed someone, and it was only 20 minutes away for me for practices,” said Hansch, who is the guidance counselor at C-G-D high school. “Both schools have similar demographics, so it seemed like a very manageable situation. The other guys on the staff also have a lot of experience.”
