New backdrop for livestock champions debuts at Fair

Last week, dozens of local young people from elementary school on up through high school showed hogs, rabbits, dairy and beef cattle, goats and more in the main show arena at the Wright County Fair. While they all worked hard, a few were honored when their animal was selected as champion in each category.

Part of the experience for winners is to take an official photo in front of the “Fair board”—not the directors who organize the fair, but a white backdrop with the 4-H logo located outside the main show arena. But this year, thanks to the Wright County P.I.G. 4-H Club, the backdrop was from plain. Under the leadership of Delia Swanson, and her father, club leader Stu Swanson, the club constructed a new masonry backdrop wall to show off the champions.

Delia said that members of the P.I.G. Club had talked about updating the backdrop wall for a long time.
