#lovemyschoolday

It was two years ago that Karissa Everson, Eagle Grove Area School District Instructional Strategist and Instructional Coach, discovered the #lovemyschoolday social media movement. After seeing how school across the nation were promoting the great things that were happening inside their buildings, with their students, with their teachers...everything - Everson suggested Eagle Grove Schools participate.

Not only was it a way to get people to share their positive experiences at school with the public, but it also gave teachers the opportunity to share what it is that they love about teaching/ working in our schools as well.

For their first year, last years, kids, parents, teachers, staff members, etc. all writing what they love about Eagle Grove schools on papers that said “Our School Rocks.” They were plastered up and down the elementary hallways.

It was such a success, they decided to make it even better this year. Weeks before, teachers at Eagle Grove Elementary and Robert Blue Middle School came together to plan activities that would intermingle students kindergarten through eighth grade.

A morning assembly in the elementary gym on Wednesday, April 11 for National #lovemyschoolday got the kids excited and ready to go. They anxiously awaited to be split into their groups and begin their specified activities, little ones being paired up with middle school buddies to lend a helping hand.
