Lions to hold fundraiser for EG Parks and Rec and Aquatic Center

Have you ever watched ducks race? Not real ones, the cute little yellow plastic ones? They’re going to be racing down the slide at the Eagle Grove Family Aquatic Center this Friday, July 15 and they could win you up to $250, and also raise money for two very worthwhile organizations in Eagle Grove.

The fun begins (weather permitting) at 5 p.m. at the Eagle Grove Family Aquatic Center. Hot dogs, chips, water and bars will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going to the Eagle Grove Parks and Rec programs and the swimming pool. Ducks may also be purchased at this time if you haven’t already purchased them from any Lions Club member or at City Hall.

When the clock strikes 7 p.m., the ducks will be dumped down the slide. Once they are in the pool, local guest celebrities will be asked to each fish a duck out of the water. The person holding the matching duck number wins. Top prize is $250, followed by $150, and in third place $75.
