Lady Eagles lose close game to Rockford

Last Tuesday night in a home game, the Eagle Grove varsity girls basketball team lost their Top of Iowa crossover game to Rockford of the East Division 47-41. The home team led 23-19 at the break.

Natalie Vrba poured in 16 points on 7 of 14 from the field. Kaitlin Sampson was close to double digits, scoring eight points with two treys included. Kenzie Crail and Hannah Sampson scored five points each, and each added a three-pointer in that, with Ari Lyman hitting for four points and Lea Friedl a three-pointer. Vrba grabbed eight boards, with Hannah getting her hands on six caroms and both Jordan Kastler and Lyman four apiece. Kaitlin finished with three rebounds, with Crail, Jozey Gump and Friedl all adding two each to their stat lines.
