Lady Eagles host North Union prior to holidays

Once again the Eagle Grove girls varsity basketball team played well in spurts and especially in the opening minutes. It still wasn’t enough to sustain them in a December 21 home loss to North Union 60-40.

The Warriors entered the game with a 6-2 record compared to the Lady Eagles with one win so far, but it didn’t seem to matter to the purple and gold. In the early going of the first quarter, Kaitlin Sampson tried to find her rhythm in driving the lane for a basket. She would miss the shot, but hit a free throw. She would then pass to Natalie Vrba in the paint on the next possession, who would turn and score on a pretty play.
