Lady Eagles drop games to Garrigan and Lake Mills

varsity girls lost a 79-43 contest to Bishop Garrigan at Wells Fargo Arena. The Golden Bears went up 31-10 after a quarter and held a 50-23 halftime lead.

Ari Lyman poured in 16 points including 4 of 5 from the charity line. Natalie Vrba scored seven points, while Kenzie Crail tossed in a pair of three-pointers and Megan Sampson scored six points as well. Cali Schultz and Shea Whaley finished with one point apiece. These were the only stats available at press time.

“Garrigan is a great team,” stated head coach Beth Egemo. “We are taking each game as a learning experience and taking away things from each game to focus on. This game is no different. We will continue to focus on our style of basketball, as well as our fundamentals, as we move throughout the season.”

Last Tuesday, the purple and gold dropped a 76-44 game at Lake Mills. The home team was up 24-11 after a quarter and 37-25 at the break. The Bulldogs put it away in the third, outscoring the visitors 23 points to nine.
